Children
Having a parent who tragically dies when you're young is a difficult enough time emotionally, let alone the affects it can have on your educational choices and financial circumstances.
South Australian Police Legacy has created a range of social and educational opportunities that can help children and young adolescents come to terms with their loss and overcome the barriers for a better future.
Educational Grants.
S.A. Police Legacy ensures that the children's education is a priority.
We assist with payments for school fees, books and other reasonable expenses, from pre-school right through to tertiary level.
These payments are made on an annual basis and grants can be made depending on the student's school level.
Additional funds for tutoring assistance can also be made available upon application.
SA Police Legacy Inc. Education Grants
Grants are adjusted annually and vary from several hundred dollars for Pre School children to about $2,000.00 for High School, Tafe or University students.
Job Start Grants and Assistance.
Once a Legatee has completed schooling, a grant is available on application to assist with the expense incurred by entering the workforce for the first time.
All children up to the age of 18 years receive a card along with a monetary gift on their birthday and Christmas time.
Financial Assistance
A Ward can apply to SA Police Legacy for financial help for a variety of needs.
Driving Lessons.
S.A. Police Legacy believes that safe and sensible driving protects not only the driver but also the community at large. And the best way to ensure this is to start with good training.
To this end:
- We pay for the first six driving lessons, and we can arrange defensive driving courses free-of-charge.
