South Australia Police Legacy - How We Do It - Fundraising

We Remember Them

Fundraising

While South Australia Police Legacy obtains much of its funding from the regular contributions of serving police officers, additional funds come from our Annual Remembrance Day Blue Ribbon collection and the following community-spirited offerings.

Police Bear.

Police Bear

Due to popular demand, we have arranged to have more Police Bears available for purchase.

"Constable Carruthers" is wearing the uniform of S.A. Police with the appropriate logos on his shirt and cap. He is also wearing a holster and handcuff pouch.

He is available from our office and all Police Credit Union branches at $30.00.

Postage is extra.

Our free Child Safety Handbook.

This free safety awareness guide for children and parents is produced by the publishing company WALSH MEDIA specifically for South Australia Police Legacy as a community service.

It is produced annually and distributed throughout South Australian primary schools.

It's main aim is to improve children's safety skills and knowledge and provide tips to ensure they are prepared for a range of situations that may arise where they feel unsafe.

Although this book is mainly distributed through schools, many smaller community groups that provide support to parents also have copies available.

Remembrance Day Blue Ribbons.

All over Australia members of the public and serving police officers show their support for the memory of deceased police officers by wearing a ribbon on National Police Remembrance Day.

Two weeks prior to Remembrance Day, held 29 September each year, S.A. Police Legacy supplies for a gold coin donation Blue Ribbons to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and contribute funds to the families left behind.

Ribbons are available throughout the police local service areas and at all Police Credit Union branches.
