Board and Management
The South Australia Police Legacy Board includes a team of dedicated volunteers representing a broad cross-section of the police community, bringing a range of complementary skills and experience.
The Board's primary responsibility is to manage S.A. Police Legacy's finite resources judiciously in order to ensure it can meet the ongoing needs of Legatees and Wards.
Mark Willing (President)
Mark has been a Police Legacy board member since 2005 and became President in 2009. Mark is currently a Senior Sergeant at the Ethical and Professional Standards Branch. Since commencing his service with SAPOL in 1981, Mark has served in both country and metropolitan areas. His postings have included C.I.B., Anti Corruption Branch and Training. Mark has enjoyed many years of community involvement, including 5 years as a board member of his local community hospital. With both dedication and passion in supporting the ‘police family’ Mark is committed to providing ongoing support to Legatees and Wards.
Karl F Faeth (Manager)
Karl is a retired Chief Inspector of Police having served for 35 years. He has been the Secretary of S.A. Police Legacy since 1992 and was appointed Manager and Treasurer in 2006. He is always keen to promote the services Police Legacy has to offer Legatees and Wards. Karl is committed to the provision of a caring and supportive lifestyle for all Legatees and Wards.
Sandra A Deakin

The role of Liaison Officer first commenced in 1998. Sandra Deakin, a Police Widow, is the present incumbent and is responsible for maintaining regular communications with the many widows and children eligible for Police Legacy support. Sandra spends a great deal of her time visiting widows, either in their home, in a nursing home environment or in hospital, keeping them informed of the services available from Legacy. Sandra willingly arranges outings for widows and children, providing enjoyment and important social interaction.
Kathleen Wilkin

Kath became a board member in 2001 after retiring as an administration officer in the corporate sector. She is experienced in local government, wine and building industries and is currently involved with several community organisations as a volunteer, including computing for seniors and the council home library service. Kath has a good knowledge of South Australia having resided in both regional and metropolitan areas of the state. She is a mother of two and a grandmother and her interests include bush walking, reading, travel, music and history.
