Giving a little can
go a long way
As a charitable organisation (formed on 2 July 1989) we are totally reliant on the generosity of individuals and organisations to provide the much-needed funds that allow us to continue to support the surviving spouses and children of South Australian Police (SAPOL) Officers.
Most of our funds are received through fortnightly contributions made by serving and retired SAPOL Officers. Other sources are through bequests and donations, often from members of the public expressing their appreciation of the work done by police, as well as through fundraising and corporate sponsorships.
We assist the families of any SAPOL officer who dies while in service or in retirement.
We assist families of serving SAPOL officers suffering from serious illness or injury.
We continue to care for 360 SA Police Legatees and 60 police wards daily.
We are independent from SAPOL, SA Police Legacy is managed by a Board.
Wall to Wall: Ride for Remembrance
A national motorcycle promotion through the Police Federation of Australia and the National Police Memorial. All funds raised are directly used to support Police Legacy organisations and charities.
The ride is open to serving and retired members, their families, friends and supporters. It is a wonderful commemoration of service and sacrifice, a celebration of the extended police family and a fantastic social event for enthusiastic motorcyclists across Australia.
